Last week, a judicial review of the Leasehold and Freehold Reform Act 2024 began in the Royal Courts of Justice.
The challenge has been brought by a group of freeholders, who claim that the Act will deprive them of their right to “peacefully enjoy their property” and will therefore breach their rights as outlined in the Human Rights Act.
Long Harbour and GRIF are two of the parties involved in the judicial review. They are also among the first freeholders to have received legal letters relating to the Leaseholder Action.
The lawyer leading Leaseholder Action, Liam Spender, was in court and is following the review closely. Click below to watch his analysis.
